Candles are meant to be enjoyed- safely. Your candle experience and safety are both important to us! Please follow these simple safety rules:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.
- To prevent sooting or wick-smoking while burning, always trim the wick down to no longer than 1/4”; ALWAYS TRIM OFF the previously burned black carbon from the end of the wick (down to about 1/4”).
At minimum, please ensure that you are following these important steps below to allow you to have an enjoyable candle burning experience:1. Trim the wick to 1/4" upon first use and before every re-lighting to promote a safe flame height and clean carbonless wick.
2. Place the candle away from drafty areas to avoid flame flickering, and ensure there is not debris in the wax pool.
3. Extinguish the flame after the 4 hour burn time. Why?...If the candle burns too long, the flame candle get dangerously high. Also burning the candle for many hours and down to the bottom of the wick can create potential fire hazards.
- Follow the 2-foot rule - don't place a burning candle near clothing, books, curtains or anything flammable.
- Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans, and any air currents. This may cause the flame to smoke.
- Keep the wax pool clear of wick trimmings, matches and debris that might catch fire.
- If wick starts to get off center, re-center it when wax is liquid but not while candle is burning.
- Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
- Place candle holders on a stable, heat-resistant surface. When burning multiple candles, place at least 8 inches apart.
- Extinguish a candle if the flame gets too close to the candle container sides or bottom. Candle flames can cause glass to break.
